OUR SCHOOL
We are located in Ceuta which is on the northern coast of Morocco opposite Gibraltar (find more about Ceuta). The school is a member of FECEI (the National Federation of Private Language Schools in Spain) and Spainwise (Jobs board). Our academy has been in operation since 2007 and its premises are in a residential area, a walk away from the town centre, and has 5 large classrooms.
At present we have over 300 students, with a maximum of 15 students in each group, students come 4 hours a week. A full timetable usually consists of 5 groups with a total of 20 contact (teaching) hours. We also offer workshops to our students which they can sign up for- theatre, arts and crafts… Levels range from absolute beginners to upper-intermediate levels and we have students of all ages from as young as 4. The vast majority of our students, however, are up to 16 years old and take the Cambridge exams in their teens.
Each teacher will have their own classroom fully equipped with a whiteboard, projector, computer and internet access. Besides, they will have access to our own method with lesson plans and teaching resources, apart from flashcards, realia, games, songs, dialogues… as we don’t follow any course book for young learners only for teenagers.
Our Director of Studies holds a weekly staff meeting as we strongly believe in team work. Moreover, it is appreciated, if possible, the attendance of new teachers to pre-course induction sessions. We say this because it would be ideal to have a first contact in June (paying conditions would be discussed); and if it wouldn’t be possible, the working contract would start the last week of August getting in contact with our environment and method but without students till the first week of September.
